Gedämpftregal German
Gedempftregal German

A reed stop of the Regal class with a muted or muffled tone, hence the name (gedämpft = “muffled”). Wedgwood alone gives both spellings, and reports that it is constructed like the Apfelregal, or with inverted conical resonators of very large scale.
