Compuestas Spanish Compuestas de Lleno Spanish Cheio Portuguese |
These names are listed only in Grove and Williams. Regarding Cheio, Williams says only “Chorus Mixture of the same type as the Spanish Compuestas de Lleno”. Regarding Compuestas, Williams says “Spanish Mixture or Lleno, similar to the French Plein Jeu but rather less stereotyped in content”. Grove describes Compuestas as “A mixture or Lleno, like the Fourniture but more varied in content”. Compuestas de Lleno is not defined by either source. The word compuestas means “composed”; compuestas de lleno means “composed completely”. With so little information, we can only presume that Compuestas is a shortened form of Compuestas de Lleno. More research is needed.
